Job summary
Cognizant is seeking an AWS Cloud Ops Engineer to monitor, operate, and support AWS infrastructure across production and non-production environments. Responsibilities include health checks, CloudWatch/Dynatrace monitoring, incident investigation, backups, log management, DNS and firewall coordination, deployment runbooks, and TriZetto Facets support.
You will work with CloudWatch, Dynatrace, and SSM across EC2, RDS, and VPC, with weekend/on-call readiness and strong documentation practices.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of IT infrastructure, cloud operations, production support, or systems engineering experience.
- 3+ years hands-on AWS operations experience preferred.
- Experience with production AWS workloads, monitoring tools, incident response processes, and backup validation.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily AWS cloud infrastructure health checks across EC2/RDS; validate disk space and readiness.
- Configure, manage, and enhance monitoring with CloudWatch and Dynatrace; build dashboards and alarms.
- Investigate alerts from CloudWatch, Dynatrace, and related tools for outages or performance issues.
- Configure notifications to on-call for critical incidents and production-impacting events.
- Manage EBS snapshots, backups, and log access across VPC and S3; support DNS and firewall changes.
- Assist deployment runbooks and weekend communications; support TriZetto Facets installation.
