Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Migration Engineer to lead large-scale VMware-to-AWS migrations. You will assess, plan, and execute migrations from on-prem VMware to AWS, build AWS environments, and automate deployment processes. The role is remote and requires 5+ years with VMware and 3+ years AWS design/implementation.

The candidate will work with cross-functional teams to ensure successful cutovers, post-migration stabilization, and governance documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience supporting VMware infrastructure environments.
• 3+ years designing and implementing AWS cloud solutions.
• Proven VMware-to-AWS migration project leadership or execution.
• Experience with AWS MGn and migration tooling.

Responsibilities

• Assess existing VMware environments and plan migration waves.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute migrations to AWS with MGN.
• Develop runbooks, cutover plans, and validation procedures.
• Collaborate with infra, app, DB, network, and security teams.
• Perform post-migration stabilization and handoff to operations.
