Job summary

CrowdStrike is seeking an Automation Engineer to join the Engineering Systems team. You will automate signing, encryption, and certificate workflows across Windows, Linux, and Mac, ensuring scalable build pipelines and secure artifact distribution.

Responsibilities include maintaining CI/CD tooling, mentoring on-call rotation, and delivering reliable automation across cloud and on-prem environments. This role requires strong scripting (Python) and automation background.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering or DevOps/build engineering experience.
• U.S. citizenship or Green Card/permanent resident status.
• Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation.
• Deep knowledge of encryption/PKI concepts as they relate to code signing.
• Experience writing Groovy for Jenkins pipeline development.
• Proven capabilities operating, administering, and troubleshooting CI/CD platforms (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab).
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with configuration tools such as Ansible, Chef, and Salt.
• Experience automating virtualization environments (e.g. VMware).
• Familiarity with public cloud APIs (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Familiarity with build/release engineering and software development lifecycles.
• Ability to work collaboratively with development teams to support and improve build/release processes.
• Collaborate effectively with global, cross-functional teams across multiple time zones.
• Must exhibit meticulous attention to detail, and have the ability to make good, timely decisions.
• Demonstrate self-learning capabilities and taking initiative in a fast pace/quickly changing environment.
• Security mindset, general understanding of cybersecurity principles and how to work within its limits.
• Proven experience utilizing AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency and drive business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Manage code signing for binaries, packages, and software artifacts across multiple platforms (Windows, Linux, Mac).
• Manage certificate lifecycles, including issuance, renewal, revocation, and storage.
• Design, implement, and maintain encryption, certificate, and code signing frameworks.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve the operation of existing systems.
• Drive improvements end-to-end from design to delivery for internal customers.
• Produce clear and maintainable code with minimal oversight.
• Provide documentation for users of the tools created.
• Perform code reviews.
• Perform on-call build engineer functions like plan/pipeline configuration changes and troubleshooting.
• Troubleshooting and remediate issues across build, packaging, and deployment failures.
• Serve as a member of an on-call rotation.
• Work productively as a remote employee.
