Job summary

Humana Inc. is seeking an Authorization Supervisor to lead daily healthcare authorization activities, supervise staff, and ensure adherence to policies while maintaining timely customer service.

The role reports to the Authorizations Manager and may require travel to Humana offices for training or meetings. With 3+ years in healthcare authorizations and prior leadership experience, you will guide teams, oversee provider manuals and logs, coordinate with branches, and implement plans to meet

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or the equivalent.
• 3 years or more of healthcare related authorization experience.
• Some experience in a lead or supervisory role generally required.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily authorization activities to ensure maximum efficiency.
• Provide guidance and direction to staff on authorization standards/procedures.
• Supervise authorization management functions and maintain assigned portfolios.
• Provide guidance to management on authorization issues at branches.
• Develop and implement plans to ensure authorizations are within stated objectives.
• Supervise the maintenance of provider manuals, patient information updates, and various logs.
• Ensure authorizations are within established time frames and that customer service guidelines are followed.
