Job summary

Humana Inc. is seeking an Authorization Supervisor to lead daily authorization activities, guiding staff to ensure efficiency and policy adherence. You will manage authorization functions, advise branch management, and implement plans to meet objectives in a remote-capable role.

Applicants should have 3+ years in healthcare authorization, strong communication, and proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams. Travel to Humana offices for training may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years healthcare authorization experience.
• Some lead or supervisory experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of healthcare collections and accounts receivable procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily authorization activities to ensure maximum efficiency and provide guidance to staff.
• Oversee authorization management functions across assigned portfolios.
• Offer guidance to management at branches on authorization issues.
• Develop and implement plans to meet stated authorization objectives.
• Maintain provider manuals, patient information updates and related logs.
• Ensure authorizations meet established time frames and comply with customer service guidelines.
