Job summary

Privia Health is seeking an Assistant Controller to lead the accounting team from a remote location in the United States. You will direct month, quarter, and year-end closes, oversee journal entries and reconciliations, and partner with FP&A on variances and reporting.

This role drives M&A accounting, SEC filings, and SOX compliance while guiding a fully remote finance team through a major ERP transition. You will bring a strong public accounting background, public company experience, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• CPA certification is required; 10+ years of progressive accounting experience are expected.
• Strong mix of public accounting and public company experience, Big 4 or large regional preferred.
• Healthcare/health-tech experience and GAAP/SOX expertise are highly valued.
• Experience leading remote accounting teams and managing audits is important.

Responsibilities

• Direct month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes with GAAP-compliant reporting.
• Oversee journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules across units.
• Partner with FP&A for variance analyses and operational reporting.
• Lead or coordinate M&A accounting and integration activities.
• Ensure SEC filings support (10-K/10-Q/8-K) and audit readiness.
• Maintain SOX compliance and liaise with external auditors.
• Lead ERP transition efforts (chart of accounts, data migration, UAT).
• Identify automation opportunities to streamline close cycles and processes.
• Support treasury operations and banking relationships.
