Job summary

Stride, Inc. is seeking a part-time Sign Language Interpreter (1099) to support D/HH students in a virtual educational environment.

The role involves interpreting and transliterating academic content in live sessions, collaborating with teachers, and participating in IEP-driven activities. Qualified candidates will have 1+ year experience in educational interpretation, virtual interpretation, and hold the National Interpreter Certification or state licensure.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience interpreting in educational environments.
• 1+ year experience providing interpreting services virtually.
• National Interpreter Certification issued by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf and/or state licensure.
• Ability to work independently with availability during typical school hours (≈20 hours/week).

Responsibilities

• Interpret and transliterate live, synchronous virtual instruction per IEPs.
• Adapt language and materials to meet students’ needs.
• Collaborate with teachers and related staff to ensure services align with IEPs.
• Attend IEP meetings as needed.
• Provide expressive and voice interpretation of classroom instruction and activities.
