Job summary

Akima Infrastructure Services (AIS) in the United States is seeking a seasoned mechanical engineer to support a novel advanced reactor design project. You will apply engineering principles to heat, gas, fluids, and solid mechanics to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient reactor systems while conforming to relevant codes and standards.

The position is remote, full-time with travel to INL (Idaho Falls) about once per month.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree(s) required or equivalent in mechanical engineering.
• Strong knowledge of design techniques, tools, and standards.
• Ability to communicate clearly and work with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and evaluation for a novel reactor project.
• Ensure designs meet ASME BPVC and ASME B31 series requirements.
• Document designs with drawings, specs and design descriptions.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to define requirements and tests.
