Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or a Master of Science degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
• The candidate may work remotely but must be available to travel to Idaho as required.
• US citizenship is required due to government contract requirements.
• Proficient in ASME BPVC and designing reactor vessels for high-temperature service with creep and fatigue considerations.
• Knowledge of design techniques and tools to produce precision plans, drawings, and models.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on a novel advanced reactor design.
• Perform mechanical system design and evaluation and support project completion and implementation.
• Design reactor vessels for high-temperature service with creep and fatigue considerations in accordance with ASME BPVC.
• Design high-temperature gaskets, sealing systems, and bolting.
• Develop and maintain design documentation, drawings, and specifications to demonstrate compliance with codes and standards.
• Coordinate requirements with designers, customers, and analysts and support experiment installation and testing.
