Job summary

OUTSOURCE Consulting Services, Inc. (OCSI.co) seeks an experienced Applied Mechanical Design Engineer to provide applied mechanical engineering for a novel advanced reactor design project in Idaho Falls, ID.

The role includes documenting electromechanical device designs, applying systems engineering, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes while supporting fabrication and testing. Travel to site is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience designing safety-related steel and concrete nuclear structures.
• Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams on a novel reactor design.
• Proven ability to deliver design of pipe supports per ASME B31.
• Knowledge of producing precision plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
• Experience with high temperature springs and related components.

Responsibilities

• Document the design of electromechanical devices and ensure conformance with requirements and codes.
• Decompose objectives into defined design requirements using systems engineering.
• Develop and validate designs using best-practice methodologies and digital tools.
• Establish testing, inspection, and quality requirements for design features.
• Oversee fabrication, construction, assembly, and procurement per design.
• Maintain configuration management of the technical baseline and related documents.
• Coordinate with designers, customers, and analysts for experiment requirements and integration.
• Support installation and testing of experiments and reactor operations.
