Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited program with 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Or a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering with 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in ASME BPVC and ASME B31 standards for reactor design.
  • Experience with high-temperature components, creep and fatigue considerations.
  • Knowledge of design documentation, drawings, and specifications.
  • Experience in fabrication oversight and project execution.
  • Ability to apply systems engineering to define design requirements and maintain configuration baselines.
  • US citizenship is required due to contract requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on novel advanced reactor design.
  • Design reactor vessels for high-temperature service with creep and fatigue considerations.
  • Develop high-temperature gaskets, sealing systems, and bolting.
  • Document designs with controlled models, drawings, and specifications.
  • Coordinate testing, inspection, and quality requirements for design features.
  • Oversee fabrication, construction, assembly, and procurement activities.
  • Ensure designs meet codes and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain technical baselines and cell-level requirements.
  • Support experiment installation, testing, and integrated analyses for safety bases.
