Job summary

Omega Technical Services is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support the design and development of a novel advanced nuclear reactor. The role focuses on heat transfer, fluid/gas flow, materials, motion, and system dynamics, with emphasis on ASME B31 and BPVC codes.

The candidate will develop safe, reliable reactor systems, verify designs against requirements, and support fabrication, inspection, and testing activities at DOE/DoD projects. U.S.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree with required professional experience
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain DOE clearance
• Experience designing nuclear reactor systems and applying ASME codes

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on novel reactor design
• Design and evaluate mechanical systems for reactor structures and components
• Develop and verify engineering projects per codes and standards
• Prepare and maintain engineering models, drawings, specs, calculations
• Ensure compliance with safety bases and configuration management
