Job summary

JGMS Government Services LLC (JGMS-GS) is seeking an applied mechanical engineer for a novel advanced reactor design project. The role applies mechanical principles to heat, gas, fluids, and solid materials essential for safe and reliable reactor systems.

The position is a 6-month temporary assignment with potential extension, fully remote with monthly travel to Idaho. Requires ABET-accredited degree and significant experience in reactor vessel design per ASME BPVC and BPVC creep/fatigue

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree required with strong mechanical background.
• Experience with design of reactor components and high-temperature materials is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team on advanced reactor design.
• Lead design and analysis to meet codes and safety requirements.
• Develop testing and verification plans for reactor systems.
• Ensure conformance with ASME BPVC and ASME B31 series where applicable.
• Coordinate with fabrication and procurement for design realization.
• Support DOE clearance and security requirements as needed.
