Job summary

Chart Industries, in the United States, is seeking an Application Engineer to serve as the primary technical resource for field sales and to actively drive technical and commercial evaluations from inquiry to order.

In this remote role, you will review customer specifications, develop competitive proposals for centrifugal turbo-expanders and related equipment, and coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain to ensure successful project execution.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or another related field.
• Experience in centrifugal air/gas turbo-expander/turbo-compressor or other rotating equipment
• At least three (3) years of experience in bidding/proposal preparation for engineered equipment or systems
• Competent in reading technical drawings including P&IDs
• Experience with API & ASME codes
• Expertise in Gas Dynamics / Auxiliary System Design / Control & Electrical or Mechanical Design a big plus
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project
• Experience in the Oil & Gas, Air Separation and Power Generation required
• Experience in Risk Assessment analysis a plus
• Strong communication skills to interface with internal personnel and external customers
• Self starter who can work independently without close supervision

Responsibilities

• Receive and review customer specifications for technical and commercial requirements for new equipment projects and develop proposals for centrifugal turbo-expanders, turbo-compressors, and related equipment.
• Perform technical review of customer/project specifications and rationalize requirements outside our standard scope/design.
• Perform calculations and product selections to meet the customer’s process needs.
• Lead technical and commercial proposal discussions with the customer to steer preference and acceptance of proposed solutions.
• Lead the internal proposal process across sales, engineering, and supply chain to ensure all costs and legal needs are covered.
• Maintain records of targets, opportunities, quotes, and projects in Salesforce.
