Job summary

Chart Industries is seeking an Applications Engineer to act as a primary technical resource for the field sales force. You will review customer specs, develop competitive proposals for centrifugal turbo-expanders and related equipment, and coordinate across engineering, sales, and project teams to win new business.

The role requires a BS in Engineering, experience with turbomachinery, and knowledge of API/ASME codes. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or related field.
• Experience in centrifugal air/gas turbo-expander/turbo-compressor or similar rotating equipment.
• Minimum 3 years bidding/proposal experience for engineered equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of API & ASME codes.
• Gas Dynamics / Auxiliary System Design / Control & Electrical or Mechanical design considered a plus.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project.
• Experience in Oil & Gas, Air Separation and Power Generation.

Responsibilities

• Receive and review customer specifications for technical and commercial requirements for new equipment projects.
• Develop proposals for centrifugal turbo-expanders, turbo-compressors, and related equipment to win new business.
• Perform technical reviews and align proposals with customer specifications.
• Lead technical and commercial proposal communications with customers.
• Coordinate internal proposal processes across sales, engineering, and project teams.
• Aim to meet KPIs such as bookings value, margins, on-time delivery, and pipeline.
