Job summary

Chart Industries is hiring an Applications Engineer who will serve as the primary technical resource for the field sales force and manage the technical and commercial evaluation of inquiries to orders. You’ll work with sales, engineering, and customers to provide reliable, competitive solutions.

You will review specifications, develop proposals for centrifugal turbo-expanders and related equipment, and drive the internal proposal process to secure new and repeat business opportunities while

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or related field.
• Experience with centrifugal air/gas turbo-expander/turbo-compressor and related equipment.
• Minimum 3 years bidding/proposal preparation for engineered equipment or systems.
• Ability to read and understand bid/proposal specs (technical and commercial).
• Experience with API & ASME codes.
• Knowledge of Gas Dynamics / Auxiliary System Design / Control & Electrical or Mechanical Design.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project.
• Experience in the Oil & Gas, Air Separation and Power Generation sectors.
• Strong communication skills with internal and external customers.
• Self-starter capable of working independently.

Responsibilities

• Receive and review customer specs and align proposals for centrifugal equipment to win business.
• Perform technical review of specs and adapt design beyond standard scope.
• Perform calculations and product selections to meet process needs.
• Lead technical/commercial proposal meetings with customers and teams.
• Drive internal proposal process across sales, design, and project management.
• Ensure proposals account for internal costs, resources, scheduling, and legal needs.
• Meet KPIs like bookings value and proposal pipeline.
• Promote safety procedures and PPE.
• Develop product knowledge and articulate tech positioning.
• Provide design support to consultants, integrators, and distributors.
• Respond to RFIs/RFPs and capture customer requirements.
• Deliver technical/product training to sales and engineers.
• Contribute to new product/tool development and target account enablement.
• Maintain records in Salesforce and internal databases.
