Job summary

Groundswell is seeking an experienced Appian Test Engineering Lead to advance QA across web-based applications, with automation testing expertise. You will shape the QA program, define test strategy, environments, and data, and mentor the testing team.

You will lead test planning, execution, and reporting, review documentation, and collaborate with remote or hybrid teams. Proficiency with Playwright and Selenium, strong requirements interpretation, and U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in information technology or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
• 5+ years of software testing experience with cross-functional teams.
• 2+ years of automation testing experience.
• Experience leading a team and mentoring junior team members.
• Experience interpreting requirements and writing test documentation (e.g. Test Reports) and UAT criteria.
• Knowledge of Test Management, automation toolsets and processes.
• Knowledge of Performance Testing process and cadence.
• Proficiency with test automation and test management tools, like Playwright and Selenium.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in fully remote and/or hybrid teams.
• Must be a U.S. citizen in accordance with contract requirements; able to obtain/maintain government clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of the QA program.
• Lead the development of overall test strategy, environment design, and test data.
• Provide leadership in hiring, training, mentoring, and evaluating testing staff.
• Plan, execute, and report on software development and maintenance testing.
• Review and provide recommendations regarding test documentation.
• Develop test plans and procedures based on specifications and data in requirements.
• Develop data collection plans and train operators and data collectors.
• Review data collection forms and operational logs collected during test.
• Review Test Incident Reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Support analysis of user requirements and assist in test plan design.
• Collaborate with testing groups on issues and topics.
• Provide timely communication regarding upgrades and downtimes, system changes, or issues.
• Report bugs and escalate issues as needed.
• Perform technical reviews; ensure adherence to quality processes.
