Job summary

Groundswell is seeking an Appian Business Analyst to partner with Appian product teams and potentially engage customers to elicit requirements for Appian applications.

Responsibilities include MVP definition, requirement discovery, data modeling, and collaboration with product managers and architects to shape the product roadmap while prioritizing features and maintaining user engagement analytics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, IT or related field.
• 5+ years of experience performing business analysis and refining requirements for information systems.
• Strong communication at all levels of an organization (written and verbal).
• Detail oriented with experience managing multiple products concurrently.
• Experience with use cases, Agile user stories, and process modeling.
• Remote position with ability to work East Coast hours as needed.
• US citizenship required for federal clearance if needed.

Responsibilities

• Support Product Dev Managers in defining MVPs and release plans.
• Conduct requirement discovery, data modeling, process analysis, and BPM design for applications.
• Lead discovery workshops with customer stakeholders to document requirements.
• Collaborate with product managers and tech leads to define new/enhanced requirements.
• Assist with prioritizing features per the product roadmap.
• Deliver and maintain user engagement analytics and supporting case studies.
• Write user stories with clear acceptance criteria for developers and QA.
• Work with teams to provide guidance on items, enablers, and stories.
• Collaborate to define sprint plans based on product vision and roadmap.
• Refine requirements from user engagements, sprint showcases, and demos.
• Help prepare estimates for backlog items.
• Conduct formal reviews and acceptance of implemented stories.
• Identify risks and opportunities for process improvements.
• Design and implement complex data models based on customer needs.
• Use Jira, TFS, and GitHub for project management.
