Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking an experienced Angular/NodeJS Developer for a remote, full-time role supporting Veterans Affairs workflows. You will design and implement RESTful APIs, integrate with EDI data pipelines, and contribute to Angular dashboards for healthcare data clients.

Qualifications

• Experience with Java and/or NodeJS back-end integration work and Angular front-end UI.
• Understanding of structured healthcare data (EDI).
• Proven experience building back-end services that serve structured healthcare data.
• Hands-on Angular experience with API integration and front-end components.
• Strong back-end development in Java and JavaScript/TypeScript/NodeJS; API design and data transformation.
• Experience with RESTful APIs consuming/transforms structured data (XML, JSON).
• Cloud experience (AWS) including API Gateway, Lambda, S3, CloudWatch.
• Proficiency with Git/GitHub workflows and collaborative development.
• Experience with unit and integration testing (JUnit/Jest).
• Ability to work with stakeholders and distributed teams; strong attention to data accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Build, support, and migrate a cloud-based Web Dashboard processing healthcare EDI transactions.
• Design and maintain RESTful APIs in Java and/or NodeJS for EDI data.
• Integrate with internal APIs, EDI pipelines, and data services for live data delivery.
• Support Angular-based dashboard front-end and ensure accurate data for users.
• Collaborate with back-end C#/.Net and AWS data engineers on API contracts.
• Write clean, testable code and participate in code reviews.
• Perform unit and integration testing across back-end services and APIs.
• Support deployment, monitoring, and performance of back-end services on AWS.
• Apply Agile engineering practices and participate in sprints.
