Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking an experienced Angular/NodeJS Developer for a fully remote role based in the United States. The position supports a Veterans Affairs project, focusing on cloud-based dashboards and secure handling of healthcare data.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in software development with backend emphasis, expert API design skills, and strong Angular experience. This role requires U.S. citizenship and will operate within an Agile, DevOps environment on AWS.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience with a strong back-end focus (Java and/or NodeJS).
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs in healthcare or enterprise environments.
• Hands-on Angular experience with API integration and front-end components.
• Strong Java/JavaScript/TypeScript/NodeJS back-end development and API design.
• Proficiency with Git/GitHub and collaborative workflows.
• Experience with AWS (API Gateway, Lambda, S3, CloudWatch) and DevOps practices.
• U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and JIRA.

Responsibilities

• Build, support, and migrate a cloud-based Web Dashboard processing healthcare EDI transactions.
• Design and maintain RESTful APIs in Java and/or NodeJS for EDI healthcare data.
• Integrate with internal APIs, EDI pipelines, and data services for live/history data.
• Support and contribute to an Angular-based dashboard front-end.
• Collaborate with C#/.NET and AWS data engineers to define API contracts.
• Write clean, tested, well-documented code and participate in code reviews.
• Perform unit and integration testing; deploy and monitor on AWS.
• Promote Agile practices and use Git/GitHub for collaboration.
