Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking an experienced Angular/NodeJS Developer for a remote, full-time role supporting Veterans Affairs projects. You will build a cloud-based dashboard and RESTful APIs that process healthcare EDI data, with strong AWS, security, and performance requirements.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience with back-end focus (Java and/or NodeJS).
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs in healthcare or enterprise environments.
• Hands-on Angular experience with API integration and front-end components.
• Experience building back-end services that transform structured healthcare data (EDI).
• Knowledge of HIPAA compliance in API and web apps.
• U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Build, support, and migrate a cloud-based Web Dashboard application that processes healthcare EDI transactions.
• Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs in Java and/or NodeJS to serve EDI healthcare records.
• Integrate with internal APIs, EDI pipelines, and data services for live/historical data delivery.
• Support and contribute to an Angular-based dashboard front-end and API integration.
• Collaborate with back-end C#/.NET and AWS data engineers on API contracts.
• Write clean, tested, well-documented code and participate in code reviews.
• Perform unit and integration testing across back-end services and API layers.
• Support deployment, monitoring, and performance of back-end services on AWS.
• Apply Agile practices and use Git/GitHub for version control.
