Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking an experienced Angular/NodeJS Developer to join a remote, U.S.-based team supporting a Veterans Affairs project. You will build and migrate a cloud-based Web Dashboard that handles healthcare EDI transactions and design RESTful APIs in Java and/or NodeJS.

You will collaborate with back-end C#/.NET and AWS data engineers, integrate with internal pipelines, and ensure data accuracy.

Qualifications

• Experience with Java and/or NodeJS back-end integration work and Angular front-end UI.
• Proven experience building back-end services that serve healthcare data.
• Hands-on Angular experience with API integration.
• Strong back-end development in Java and JavaScript/TypeScript/NodeJS.
• Experience with Angular or another modern front-end framework.
• Proven ability to build RESTful APIs that transform structured data.
• Working knowledge of Angular components, services, and API integration.
• Cloud (AWS/Azure) experience including API Gateway, Lambda, S3, CloudWatch.
• Proficiency with Git/GitHub, branching and PRs.
• Experience with unit/integration testing (JUnit/Jest).
• U.S. Citizenship required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Build, support, and migrate a cloud-based Web Dashboard application processing healthcare EDI transactions.
• Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs in Java and/or NodeJS for EDI data.
• Integrate with internal APIs, EDI pipelines, and data services for live data delivery.
• Support and contribute to an Angular-based dashboard front-end and API integration.
• Collaborate with C#/.NET and AWS data engineers to define clean API contracts.
• Write clean, tested, well-documented code and participate in code reviews.
• Perform unit and integration testing across back-end services and APIs.
• Support deployment, monitoring, and performance of back-end services on AWS.
