Job summary

U.S. Anesthesia Partners is seeking an experienced anesthesia coder for a remote day shift role. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of surgical CPT/ICD10 coding experience, plus 2+ years in anesthesia coding, with proficiency in MD Cloud Practice Solutions and other EMR platforms.

The position requires knowledge of CMS guidelines, NCCI, and the ability to abstract records, determine start/end times, care team, and medical direction. California, Hawaii, or Alaska residents are not eligible.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years minimum surgical coding experience and 2+ years anesthesia experience.
• Current CPC (CANPC a plus) required.
• Experience with multiple EMRs and both handwritten and electronic records.
• Strong knowledge of ICD10, CMS guidelines, NCCI, and coding playbooks.
• Ability to abstract times, care team, and medical direction.

Responsibilities

• Abstract medical records into surgical CPT and crosswalk to ASA codes.
• Code ICD10 and anesthesia times; apply appropriate modifiers.
• Review documentation for required elements and attestations.
• Handle coding rejections, escalations, and IDX/denial workflows.
• Ensure adherence to HIPAA and confidentiality.
