Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or equivalent work experience
• AAPC or AHIMA coding certification (e.g., CPC, COC, CCS)
• Minimum 2 years of anesthesia coding/auditing in a surgical environment
• Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, ASA and HCPCS coding
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and payer policies

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed coding of anesthesia services, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established guidelines
• Conduct chart audits and resolve coding edits and denials, providing feedback to healthcare providers
• Maintain coding credentials and participate in education for providers and co-workers regarding coding practices
