Job summary

Ladders is seeking an Air Permitting | Natural Gas | Environmental Permitting Project Manager to lead permitting efforts for utility-scale energy projects across multiple jurisdictions. Remote US-based role, coordinating due diligence, permitting strategy, and agency engagement to advance projects through regulatory requirements.

You will collaborate with internal teams, consultants, and regulators to support responsible development and execution, manage schedules, and oversee air and wastewater

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, geology, planning, natural resources, or a related discipline.
• 4–8 years of experience in permitting or environmental planning, ideally in utility-scale energy projects.
• Demonstrated experience with state and federal air permitting for combustion sources and emissions calculations.
• Familiarity with natural gas generation technologies and associated permitting considerations.
• Experience managing environmental consultants and project schedules.

Responsibilities

• Lead permitting and land use efforts for energy facilities across various jurisdictions.
• Evaluate site readiness and permitting pathways for powered land and data center projects.
• Manage permitting for natural gas generation machinery and equipment.
• Develop project-specific permitting strategies and integrated schedules.
• Conduct early-stage environmental due diligence and fatal-flaw assessments.
• Oversee industrial wastewater and stormwater permitting processes.
• Facilitate communication with regulatory agencies and negotiate project conditions.
