Job summary

AES is seeking a Permitting Project Manager to lead complex environmental permitting for energy projects across MISO, SPP and ERCOT. You will work from early site screening through permit acquisition and construction handoff.

You will collaborate with development, real estate, engineering and regulatory agencies, guiding strategies, schedules, and compliance. This role emphasizes stakeholder engagement and delivering timely permit packages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, geology, planning, natural resources, or related discipline.
• Typically 4–8 years of progressively responsible experience in permitting or environmental planning for energy projects.
• Experience with state and federal air permitting, NSR/Title V, and regulatory coordination.

Responsibilities

• Lead permitting for energy facilities across local, state and federal jurisdictions within MISO, SPP and ERCOT.
• Develop and execute project-specific permitting strategies and integrated schedules.
• Coordinate with authorities having jurisdiction and regulatory agencies through pre-application meetings and permit negotiations.
• Mentor analysts and other permitting team members.
• Represent the company in meetings with communities, elected officials, landowners, agencies and other external stakeholders.
