Job summary

IBM Consulting seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer - AI to partner with clients across industries, transforming challenges into scalable AI solutions. You will prototype, deploy, and scale GenAI, RAG, and agentic AI applications, delivering measurable business value while collaborating with business and technical teams.

You will design LLM-powered agents, build data pipelines, and apply MLOps practices to ensure reliable, secure, and production-ready AI.

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of AI/ML, data science, or software engineering delivering production AI solutions.
• Strong Python and SQL; hands-on GenAI & agentic AI using LangChain, LangGraph or CrewAI.
• Experience building GenAI apps with LLMs, including RAG, embeddings, and vector databases.
• Experience designing agentic AI workflows with LangChain/LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen.
• Experience with ML/data processing using scikit-learn, PyTorch, Pandas, or Spark.
• Experience integrating/deploying AI using APIs, cloud AI platforms, and tools like Git, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Experience with at least one major cloud AI platform (AWS Bedrock, Azure AI Foundry, Vertex AI).
• Strong client-facing skills to translate business problems into technical solutions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Solve Client Challenges: Partner with business and technical teams to identify AI use cases and success metrics.
• Build and Deploy AI Solutions: Develop end-to-end GenAI, RAG, and agentic AI apps on modern cloud platforms.
• Engineer Agentic and GenAI Systems: Design and implement LLM-powered agents, tool use, orchestration, and evaluation frameworks.
• Data Engineering and Integrations: Prepare structured and unstructured data and integrate AI with enterprise systems.
• Scale and Operationalize AI: Apply MLOps/LLMOps, testing, monitoring, and responsible AI practices.
• Drive Business Impact: Present insights, demonstrate outcomes, and turn solutions into reusable assets.
