Job summary

Makai Labs is hiring a Project Manager to own delivery of our AI-powered client and platform projects, from planning through rollout, with a focus on follow-through, risk, and high-touch client communication. You’ll collaborate with engineers, designers, product, client services, and client stakeholders to keep projects on schedule and within budget, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Qualifications

• Five+ years leading client-facing software projects.
• Proven track record managing complex cross-functional initiatives.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with executives.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects in fast-paced settings.
• Experience using Jira, Asana, Slack, and Google Workspace.
• Self-starter who drives projects with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated urgency and accountability in delivery.
• Experience with SaaS, AI, or ML projects.
• Background in professional services or consulting delivery (SOWs, change orders).
• Experience in regulated industries (healthcare/finance).
• Familiarity with AI tools in PM work.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution, and completion of client and platform projects.
• Define scope, goals, and resourcing; maintain plans and milestones.
• Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders for success.
• Maintain risk/issue log; flag blockers with mitigation.
• Run client meetings and internal check-ins; assign owners and dates.
• Coordinate rollout and user adoption; handoff to production support.
• Track budget against SOW; manage scope changes.
• Identify process improvements and apply AI tools to automate tasks.
• Ensure delivery after meetings; enforce accountability.
