Job summary

Makai Labs is seeking a Project Manager to own delivery of AI-powered client and platform projects. You will partner with the Product Owner to manage how and when delivery occurs, coordinating with engineers, designers, product, and client services to keep projects on schedule and within budget.

You’ll ensure decisions and actions have owners, track follow-ups, and maintain risk logs, thriving in a fast-paced startup environment with a focus on meticulous execution.

Qualifications

• Client-facing project management experience on software or technology projects.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management, including status updates to executives.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced setting.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and maintaining project artifacts.
• Proactive risk and issue tracking with clear ownership and follow-through.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and completion of client and platform projects.
• Build and maintain project plans, timelines, and milestones against the SOW.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
• Provide documentation, reporting, and client communication, including status decks.
• Own follow-through after meetings: track actions, decisions, dependencies, and owners.
• Maintain a risk and issue log and flag blockers early with proposed paths forward.
• Run client meetings and internal check-ins with clear owners and deadlines.
• Coordinate project rollout and user adoption, including handoff to production support.
• Track budget vs. the SOW and support change orders.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and AI-assisted task automation.
