Job summary

SMX is seeking a Mid-Level Site Reliability Engineer to architect, automate, and operate cloud infrastructure for AI/ML platforms. You will bridge MLOps and DevSecOps, deploying scalable architectures supporting compute-intensive workloads for enterprise and government clients across cloud environments.

You will also be a customer-facing SME, translating mission challenges into actionable architectures, supporting technical scoping, and demonstrating platform capabilities during engagements.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of SRE/DevOps/Platform Engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and maintain highly available Kubernetes clusters for AI/ML workloads across cloud environments.
• Serve as the technical SME on client engagements, translating requirements into architectures and supporting scoping.
• Drive infrastructure automation using Terraform and GitOps, with security guardrails from day one.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with container security scans and audit logging.
• Monitor platform performance and participate in on-call rotations, driving root-cause analysis.
