Job summary

University of Texas at Austin is seeking an AI Discovery Analyst to partner with FAS units, identify AI opportunities, and drive governance-aligned use cases. The role requires strong facilitation, analytical thinking and hands-on experience with Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot.

Qualifications

• Experience leading automation projects and business analysis.
• Ability to facilitate meetings with diverse stakeholder groups.
• Hands-on proficiency with AI productivity tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Microsoft Copilot.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools.

Responsibilities

• Engage with assigned FAS units to understand processes, priorities, and challenges; identify AI-driven opportunities to improve efficiency and service delivery.
• Develop, evaluate, and govern AI use cases, documenting business problems, proposed solutions, data needs and expected outcomes; ensure compliance with governance frameworks.
• Provide working proficiency guidance on enterprise AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot) and assist business users in tool selection and workflow integration.
• Record findings, decisions, and outcomes; share lessons across FAS units to reduce duplicated effort; identify opportunities outside AI scope for handoff.
• Collaborate across the FAS AI & Technology Community of Practice to align with broader initiatives.
