Job summary

Her Mission is seeking an Accounting Specialist to support day-to-day financial operations, including AP, AR, and general ledger activities. You will help maintain accurate records, process payments, manage expenses, and assist with month-end close in a fully remote role.

The position emphasizes accuracy, accountability, and process improvements, with collaboration across finance and operations teams in a distributed US-based environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting, AP/AR, or payment operations.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, GL, and reconciliations.
• Experience processing invoices and managing payment workflows.
• Proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets for financial recordkeeping.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to work remotely.

Responsibilities

• Process and code vendor invoices; manage approvals and payments.
• Handle AR processes: billing, receipts, collections, and cash application.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close support.
• Assist with payroll-related accounting entries and expense management.
• Support internal controls, reports, and financial documentation.
