Job summary

Grand Canyon Conservancy is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations, GL management, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The role collaborates with the CFO, Controller, and finance staff to ensure accurate and compliant records in line with GAAP.

NetSuite experience and nonprofit/retail accounting background are highly preferred. The position is remote, full-time and exempt, with episodic on-site requirements about four times per year, including provided

Qualifications

• At least five to seven years of progressively-responsible accounting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and general ledger reconciliation experience.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite experience preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain understanding of GCC’s chart of accounts and financial reporting; resolve discrepancies and coding errors.
• Review accounting transactions and GL coding for accuracy and proper supporting documentation.
• Manage higher-level and complex general ledger accounts and reconciliations.
• Prepare financial reports and schedules ensuring revenue and deposits are recorded accurately.
• Perform monthly philanthropy transaction reconciliation and allocate to funds and projects.
• Review Field Institute activity and Interpretive Sales for proper recording and reconciliation.
• Ensure all month-end close reconciliations and journal entries are recorded.
• Collaborate with CFO, Controller, and finance staff on accounting matters.
