Job summary

The CSP Group is seeking an Accounting Manager for a newly created, fully remote position with a Washington, DC-based nonprofit. You will oversee accounts receivable, grant-related financial administration, and general accounting activities, leading month-end close and financial reporting.

Working with the Controller, you will support budgeting, ensure GAAP-compliant reporting, and drive process improvements across the finance function while maintaining accurate records and audit readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of five years of accounting experience with financial reporting and month-end close.
• Experience in accounts receivable, grant accounting, or financial administration.
• Experience in nonprofit or grant-funded organization preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end close activities and prepare monthly internal and external financial reports.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Perform technical reviews of reconciliations and journal entries for accuracy.
• Maintain financial reporting schedules for grants, consortia, and programs.
• Support budgeting process and prepare budget worksheets and schedules.
• Assist with special analyses and finance projects as needed.
• Support annual audits by providing schedules and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and organizational policies.
