Job summary

Ohalo remote Accounting Manager role is an opportunity to shape the company's finance infrastructure. Reporting to the Controller, you will lead daily accounting operations, mentor the staff, and own technical close areas including stock-based compensation, ASC 842 lease accounting, and allocations across the production cycle.

You will design inventory accounting, drive process improvements, and collaborate with FP&A across the organization, while ensuring strong internal controls and audit

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong working knowledge of NetSuite, Ramp, and Zip (or a similar procurement/AP automation platform).
• Deep understanding of US GAAP and technical accounting concepts.
• Self-starter and first-principles thinker who is comfortable building process from scratch.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve the work of the Accounting Analyst, including AP processing, cash reconciliations, and journal entries, coaching toward root-cause thinking.
• Prepare and review complex journal entries, including stock-based compensation, ASC 842 lease accounting, and cost/expense allocations.
• Design and build Ohalo's inventory and manufacturing accounting process from the ground up as the company transitions to commercial seed production.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close with accurate financial statements.
• Maintain internal controls and serve as a key contact for external auditors.
