Job summary

Insurance Office of America is seeking an Account Manager for Commercial Lines who will manage an assigned book of business, supporting retention and new business. The role requires active P&C licensing and leadership of a small account management team.

The position is remote for candidates in Eastern or Central Time Zones, with on-site needs occasionally based on policy and branch requirements. IOA offers growth and a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in account management or 5+ years in the insurance industry
• Thorough knowledge of insurance brokerage and client needs
• Active licensing; CIC or equivalent designation preferred
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Exceptional customer service, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Responsibilities

• Maintain technical competence and industry expertise.
• Direct daily activities of the account management team.
• Handle customer service requests, policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis.
• Manage policy expirations and renewals.
• Conduct client research, prepare submissions, negotiate coverages, and present proposals.
• Monitor delinquent accounts and collect outstanding balances.
• Maintain agency management systems and carrier/vendor platforms, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
• Communicate workload status with the account team.
• Deliver excellent service and proactively respond to service requests.
• Stay updated on company policies and procedures.
• Seek and adopt best practices to improve performance.
• Demonstrate integrity and leadership.
