Job summary

Insurance Office of America is seeking an Account Manager - Commercial Lines to manage a book of business with a focus on retention and new business support. This remote role is for candidates in Eastern or Central Time Zones, with possible hybrid onsite requirements near IOA locations.

You will coordinate day-to-day admin, resolve complex issues, and ensure accuracy in policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of account management experience, or 5+ years in the insurance industry
• Thorough knowledge of insurance brokerage and client needs
• Active licensing; CIC or equivalent preferred
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Exceptional customer service, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• High School Diploma (or equivalent)

Responsibilities

• Maintain technical competence and industry expertise
• Direct daily activities of the account management team
• Handle customer service requests, policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis
• Manage policy expirations and renewals
• Conduct client research, prepare submissions, negotiate coverages, and present proposals
• Monitor delinquent accounts and collect balances
• Maintain agency management systems and carrier/vendor platforms
• Monitor and maintain activity/suspense for timely completion
• Maintain frequent, transparent communication with the account team regarding workload and issues
• Deliver excellent service and anticipate needs
• Stay updated on company policies and procedures
• Seek and adopt best practices to improve performance
• Demonstrate integrity and leadership
