Job summary

Insurance Office of America is seeking an Account Manager for Commercial Lines to manage an assigned book, retain clients, and support new business growth.

You will lead day-to-day account management activities, coordinate service delivery, renewals, and policy administration while ensuring exceptional client service and compliance with licensing requirements, including possessing a P&C license (CIC preferred). Hybrid/remote options are available.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of account management experience, or 5+ years in the insurance industry.
• Thorough knowledge of insurance brokerage and client needs.
• Active property & casualty (P&C) licensing; CIC or equivalent preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Exceptional customer service, communication, multitasking, and organization.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned book of business, ensuring account retention.
• Coordinate day-to-day administrative and customer service activities.
• Resolve complex issues with minimal errors.
• Maintain technical competence and industry knowledge.
• Direct daily activities of the account management team.
• Handle policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis.
• Manage policy expirations and renewals.
• Prepare submissions, negotiate coverages, and present proposals.
• Monitor accounts receivable and collect outstanding balances.
• Maintain agency management systems and carrier/vendor platforms.
• Monitor activity and suspense for timely completion.
• Communicate workload status with the account team.
• Deliver service excellence and anticipate client needs.
• Stay updated on company policies and procedures.
• Champion IOA values with integrity and leadership.
