Job summary

Insurance Office of America is seeking an Account Manager - Commercial Lines to oversee a designated book of business, retain clients, support new business, and coordinate day-to-day account management tasks. You will lead the account management team, handle policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis, and ensure renewals are processed accurately.

This hybrid role allows one day in the Binghamton, NY or Syracuse, NY offices or fully remote for applicants in Eastern or Central

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of account management experience, or 5+ years in the insurance industry.
• Active property & casualty licensing; CIC or equivalent preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Exceptional customer service, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Maintain technical competence and industry expertise.
• Direct daily activities of the account management team.
• Handle policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis.
• Manage policy expirations and renewals.
• Renewal submissions: research, negotiate coverages, present proposals.
• Monitor accounts receivable and collect outstanding balances.
• Maintain agency management systems and carrier/vendor platforms.
• Ensure timely completion of activities and open items.
