Job summary

Insurance Office of America is seeking an Account Manager - Commercial Lines to oversee a book of business with emphasis on retention, renewals, and service excellence. Hybrid work option with one in-office day in NY area or fully remote for Eastern/Central Time zones.

You will coordinate admin tasks, support new business, and lead a team to analyze coverage, billing, and claims while maintaining carrier relationships and data accuracy.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of account management experience or 5+ years in insurance.
• Strong knowledge of insurance brokerage and client needs.
• Active property & casualty (P&C) licensing; CIC preferred.
• Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent customer service, communication, multitasking and organization.
• Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned book of business, ensuring retention and new business.
• Coordinate day-to-day administrative and customer service activities.
• Maintain technical competence and industry expertise.
• Direct daily activities of the account management team.
• Handle requests, policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis.
• Manage policy expirations and renewals.
• Conduct client research, prepare submissions, negotiate coverages, present proposals.
• Monitor delinquent accounts and collect outstanding balances.
• Maintain agency management systems and carrier/vendor platforms.
• Monitor activity and suspense to ensure timely completion.
• Communicate workload status and issues with the account team.
• Deliver exceptional service and proactively anticipate needs.
• Stay updated on company policies and procedures.
• Seek best practices to improve performance and demonstrate integrity.
