Job summary

Insurance Office of America is seeking an Account Manager - Commercial Lines to manage a book of business with a focus on construction, contractors and habitational risks. This hybrid role offers a mix of in-office and remote work, with 1 day in a Binghamton or Syracuse office and option for fully remote for Eastern/Central Time Zone residents.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in account management (or 5+ years in insurance), a valid P&C license, strong client service skills and proficiency in MS

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of account management experience or 5+ years in insurance.
• Thorough knowledge of insurance brokerage and client needs.
• Active property & casualty license required; CIC or equivalent preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent customer service, communication, multitasking and organization.

Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned book of business, ensuring retention and supporting new business.
• Coordinate day-to-day administrative and customer service activities.
• Resolve complex issues with accuracy and prevent errors or omissions.
• Maintain agency management systems and carrier/vendor platforms.
• Renewals: research clients, prepare submissions, negotiate coverages, present proposals.
• Monitor delinquent accounts and pursue outstanding balances.
