Job summary

The American Marketing Association is offering an Academic Communities Intern role, fully remote for residents of eligible states. You will support academic marketers by organizing events, assisting volunteer leaders, and fostering a sense of home for fellows and scholars.

Responsibilities include SIG web maintenance, budgeting support, conference planning, attendee inquiries, awards processes, and proceedings administration. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma
• Enrolled at a 2-year or 4-year college/university
• Customer service or volunteer management experience
• Interest in working within event management, volunteer management, or association management
• Experience in Google Suite
• Keen eye for detail
• Ability to work remotely 24 hours per week

Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage Special Interest Group (SIG) webpages.
• Assist with SIG budget and financial management, including payments, reimbursements, and invoices.
• Support the Manager, Academic Communities, with planning and logistics for the 2027 Winter Academic, Virtual Winter Academic, Summer Academic, and Marketing and Public Policy conferences.
• Respond to attendee inquiries alongside the Manager, Academic Communities, and Customer Support team.
• Help execute Conference and SIG awards processes.
• Assist the Senior Copy Editor with conference proceedings administration.
