Job summary

Guidant Financial is hiring a Retirement Plan Operations Specialist for a fully remote position. You will learn the full lifecycle of administering, testing, and reporting on 401(k) plans while supporting clients nationwide.

Training accelerates growth from document review to basic plan administration. Responsibilities include gathering information for annual reporting, reviewing documents, performing reconciliations, and preparing IRS Form 5500 filings.

Qualifications

• Experience with document review and transaction processing.
• 1 to 5 years of adjacent back-office financial operations in areas such as benefits administration, money movement, tax prep processing, or compliance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Direct retirement-plan operations experience (401(k) or IRA) including year-end reporting (5500) preferred.
• Bachelor’s or associate degree in business/finance or equivalent work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with clients to obtain necessary information to prepare the annual reporting.
• Review documents submitted by clients for completeness and accuracy.
• Reconcile plans with rollovers and stock using Excel and administration software.
• Utilize administration software to complete 401(k) testing and reporting.
• Make outgoing reminder calls and send emails to clients during plan year reporting.
• Prepare required 401(k) plan government filings, including IRS Form 5500, using filing software.
• Educate clients regarding the administration of their 401(k) plan and plan documents.
