Job summary

Guidant Financial is seeking a Retirement Plan Operations Specialist to learn the full process of administering and reporting on 401(k) plans. Through accelerated training and hands-on experience, you'll progress from document review to handling basic plan administration.

You will review client documents, keep clients updated on progress, and contribute to year-end reporting and IRS 5500 filings, gaining practical exposure to the retirement-plan lifecycle in a fully remote role.

Qualifications

• Experience with document review and transaction processing as daily job responsibilities.
• 1 to 5 years of adjacent back-office financial operations experience in one or more of the following areas: benefits administration, money movement and wires, insurance claims processing, tax prep processing, loan or mortgage document processing, or compliance or quality-control support.

Responsibilities

• Work with clients to obtain necessary information to prepare the annual reporting.
• Review documents submitted by clients for completeness and accuracy.
• Reconcile plans with only rollovers and plan stock using Excel and administration software.
• Utilize administration software to complete 401(k) testing and reporting.
• Make outgoing reminder calls and send emails to clients during the plan year reporting process.
• Prepare required 401(k) plan government filings, including the IRS Form 5500, using filing software.
• Educate clients regarding the administration of their 401(k) plan and 401(k) plan documents.
