Guidant Financial is hiring a Retirement Plan Operations Specialist for a fully remote role. You will learn the full process of administering, testing and reporting on 401(k) plans, reviewing client documents, and communicating progress to clients.

Qualifications

• Experience with document review and transaction processing as daily job responsibilities.
• 1 to 5 years of adjacent back-office financial operations experience in one or more areas such as benefits administration, money movement and wires, insurance claims processing, tax prep processing, loan or mortgage document processing, or compliance or quality-control support.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Direct retirement-plan operations experience including 401(k) or IRA administration, recordkeeping, distributions and rollovers, compliance testing, or 5500 or year-end reporting is preferred.
• Experience with reconciliation as a daily job responsibility is preferred.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field such as business or finance, or equivalent work experience, is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of 401(k) plan structure, ROBS, and IRS/DOL regulations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review documents submitted by clients for completeness and accuracy.
• Reconcile plans with only rollovers and plan stock using Excel and administration software.
• Utilize administration software to complete 401(k) testing and reporting.
• Prepare required 401(k) plan government filings, including the IRS Form 5500, using filing software.
• Educate clients regarding the administration of their 401(k) plan and 401(k) plan documents.
• Training on concepts for a Retirement Plan Administrator I.
