Job summary

Guidant Financial is seeking a Retirement Plan Operations Specialist to join our fully remote team. You will learn the end-to-end process of administering 401(k) plans, review client documents, and support year-end reporting including IRS Form 5500.

This role emphasizes accuracy, communication, and proactive client updates while growing through hands-on training. Requirements include 1–5 years in back-office financial operations, proficiency with Excel/Word/Outlook, and familiarity with 401(k)

Qualifications

• Experience with document review and transaction processing in back-office roles.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Direct retirement-plan operations experience (401(k)/IRA) preferred.
• Experience with reconciliation as a daily responsibility preferred.
• Bachelor’s/Associate degree in business or finance or equivalent work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with clients to obtain information for annual reporting.
• Review client documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Reconcile plans using Excel and administration software.
• Perform 401(k) testing and reporting with filing software.
• Prepare government filings including IRS Form 5500.
• Educate clients on retirement plan administration.
