Job summary

Guidant Financial is offering a fully remote Retirement Plan Operations Specialist role, enabling you to learn the end-to-end process of administering 401(k) plans. You’ll review client documents, update on progress, and assist with year-end reporting and Form 5500 filings, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to client success.

The position emphasizes accelerated learning, in-depth training, and growth potential within a supportive environment as Guidant moves toward ESOP ownership.

Qualifications

• Experience with document review and transaction processing.
• 1–5 years of adjacent back-office financial operations experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Direct retirement-plan operations experience, including 401(k) or IRA administration, recordkeeping, and reporting, is preferred.
• Experience with reconciliation as a daily job responsibility is preferred.
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in business or finance, or equivalent work experience, is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of 401(k) plan structure, ROBS, and IRS/DOL regulations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with clients to obtain information for annual reporting.
• Review documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Reconcile plans with rollovers and plan stock using Excel and admin software.
• Complete 401(k) testing and reporting with administration software.
• Make reminder calls and send emails to clients during plan year reporting.
• Prepare government filings including IRS Form 5500 using filing software.
• Educate clients on 401(k) plan administration and documents.
