Job summary

Layton Construction seeks a Project Engineer to assist Project Managers in ensuring work installed meets plans and specifications on the project site. You will review shop drawings, coordinate with architects and subcontractors, and support scheduling and reporting to keep milestones on track.

The role emphasizes safety, integrity, and cost-conscious decisions. A relocation to the project site is required, with opportunities to grow in a dynamic construction environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Assists in bidding and in developing scope of work for trade contractors.
• Maintains logs, reflecting the status of shop drawings, requests for clarification, change requests, and proposal requests.
• Publishes weekly progress reports for assigned projects and follows up for receipt, review, and distribution of information required for project construction.
• Updates project schedules as needed.
• Coordinates standard slump and compaction testing to verify compliance to specifications.
• Reviews plans from the standpoint of value analysis and constructability, ensuring appropriate materials are utilized.
