Job summary

Qualus is seeking experienced Relay Testing Professionals at Senior Level III and Lead roles in our Field Engineering department. You will commission and test protection and control schemes for substations and plants, including IEDs, SCADA, and IEC-61850 interfaces, with opportunities to mentor field technicians and engineers.

You will perform end-to-end testing, develop test plans, and lead teams on defined projects while adhering to safety and company policies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in relay testing and commissioning in substations.
• Military environment experience in lieu of relay testing may be considered.
• Reading One Line and AC/DC diagrams.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Red-lines design documents across drawing sets (Single Line, AC/DC Elementary, Wiring, Panel Arrangement, and BOM/Material List)
• Performs End-To-End testing
• Performs IED testing, manually and with test sets (Doble 6150, Omicron, Manta) for protection & control schemes
• Identifies risks associated with testing and commissioning those schemes and systems
• Develops test plans, risk assessments, and practical protection/control system applications
• Analyzes scope and drawings to create functional guidelines and risk assessments
• Leads people and tasks within a project, or provides technical/people leadership
• Performs weekly site safety inspections
• Leads the application of HP with Project Lead approval
• Supports Company and Customer policies and procedures
