Job summary

Qualus is seeking experienced Relay Testing Professionals at the Senior level to commission and test protection and control schemes for utility substations and plants across the United States. You will work with IEDs, DFRs, RTUs, and IEC-61850 interfaces, traveling to client sites as needed and mentoring junior staff on field testing best practices.

Responsibilities include end-to-end testing, reviewing single-line diagrams, and leading testing efforts with attention to safety and regulatory

Qualifications

• Experience in relay testing and commissioning in substations or power systems.
• Military experience considered in lieu of relay testing.
• Reading One Line and wiring diagrams.
• Able to perform field work in varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Red-lines design documents across drawing sets.
• Perform End-To-End testing of protection & control schemes.
• Test IEDs manually and with automated test sets (Doble 6150, Omicron, Manta).
• Identify risks in testing and commissioning activities.
• Develop test plans and risk assessments for protection systems.
• Lead tasks or teams on defined scopes of work.
• Conduct weekly site safety inspections.
• Support project lead with HP application and client policies.
